Podium in Dubai

The Polish team RTG by Gładysz Racing, supported by Volkswagen Racing Polska completed the 24-hour race on the track in Dubai with a magnificent third place. Endurance competition was full of many adventures, but the team handled all the challenges very well and can celebrating another success in the class A3!

Drivers of the SEAT Leon Supercopa since the beginning of the weekend showed that they are aiming at highest ranks and it has been proven during qualifying, when good times of Robertas Kupcikas and Adam Gładysz gave the Polish team a second starting position in the class. The fight in the race, however, was not to be easy. At the start of Hankook 24H Dubai appeared in as many as 100 cars, and so long and debilitating rivalry is crucial to maintain the maximum concentration.

On Friday at 14:00 local time the competition started. Robertas Kupcikas was first to drive in RTG by Gładysz Racing and after opening laps he remained in third place in the class. After two hours, Adam Gładysz took the car and during his shift was able to break through to the second place. The next in the queue to jump behind the wheel was Marcin Jaros, who managed to attack his rival and claim the lead! During the following laps the team shuffled with rivals on the first and second place depending on the current sequence of pit stops. Unfortunately, after about seven hours, when Jerzy Dudek was behind the wheel of SEAT Leon Supercopa, there were some issues with a gear box. Although the mechanics of Volkswagen Racing Polska did a fantastic job and changed transmission in a blink on an eye, the time loss was chances for victory dropped to almost zero.

This however, changed a little for the drivers who were even more determined after the problems. During next changes Robertas Kupcikas, Adam Gładysz, Marcin Jaros, Jerzy Dudek and Simon Larsson gave their all so that they could make up at least some of the losses. As a result, on Saturday at 14:00 - after 24 hours of murderous rivalry - Adam Gładysz rode to the finish as the third driver A3 class giving his team the podium in Hankook 24H Dubai!

ADAM GŁADYSZ: - Hankook 24h Dubai race is behind us. We finished it in third place, with which we are very pleased, but of course our goal was to win in the class. We had some problems that prevented this, but our mechanics did a great job removing the issue, and besides that SEAT Leon Supercopa turned out to be a very good car. I would like to thank the whole team, partners, sponsors and my family, the other drivers with which I shared the car. It was a huge challenge that we managed well We are going home happy, with trophies and I hope to meet you here next year!
